Wegman Company takes Chicago by Storm
Always pushing to stay ahead of our game in the Midwest, the Wegman Sales Team recently attended this year’s NeoCon 2017, the most recognized trade show that remains focused on being at the forefront of changing commercial design and business trends.
This year’s show did not disappoint, with an overall emphasis on workplace collaboration, worker friendly sit-to-stand desk, benching, and a myriad of acoustic seating options for personal/group private-spaces. As one might imagine, technology continues to shape the way people work and this fact has not been lost by the office furniture industry. With an overall emphasis on Architecture Wall Installation, this is certainly not your parent’s workspace anymore! (We’re excited to report that we had 4 more people trained and certified in another Architectural Wall System in August!)
Desks equipped with multiple plug in ports, casual soft seating with electrical and cell phone charging stations, smart boards, to programmable desk adjustments and modular phone booths, technology is shaping where and how people work. The recent trends are driven by the employee’s desire for companies to provide more welcoming and friendly spaces that also foster collaboration to innovation. The ability to get up and move while completing your work is important to today’s worker.
“The NeoCon show allows our Wegman team to see firsthand and discuss the latest trends in the office furniture world”, says Scott Wegman, President of Wegman Company. More than simply a viewing tour, NeoCon is the premiere office furnishing show in the country. It allows us to connect face-to-face with those out of town customers we normally communicate with via email and phone. “It’s a great opportunity for us to thank customers for their business, discuss future business opportunities and continue to foster our relationships,” says Wegman. “Our customers always seem to appreciate the fact that we attend NeoCon.”
Netherlands based Maars Living Walls, a relatively new company to the US market, debuted their architectural wall products for the first time at this year’s show and what a splash they made. Winning the Contract Furnishings “Best of Neocon Gold Award” for their SQAPE Wall System and “Silver” Award for their Acoustical Sliding Door. The Wegman team, always on the move, stopped into the Maars showroom for an introduction and review of these products during their amazing tour of the expo.
Furniture Dealerships from across the United States, Architecture and Design, Commercial Real Estate management teams and Corporate End Users were all in attendance representing the core business groups Wegman Company services. Overall, it was a great show, filled with good education and the latest trends, and a great platform to meet with our customers. We’re already looking forward to NeoCon 2018!
